For Easter weekend my family had a big get together. We had tons of fun. Weeks before I had an idea about doing a family fun run. I thought it sounded like a great way to get everybody trying to work toward something and do something fun and active together. I'm glad we followed through with it. We started off our day of activities with our fun run. Most of the adults did 3 miles. The other option was to finish 1.5 miles. Some also rode their bikes. It ended up being tons of fun. We should make it a yearly tradition. :)
Getting warmed up and stretching :)
Here we go!
My 2 year old was saying "Hi, Mom!" :)
I'm so proud of my 2 girls, ages 8 & 6. They pretty much stayed running with the adults that whole time. They did awesome! I'm not sure the exact miles that finished but I know it was between 1.5 & 2 miles. I'm so proud of them. I know for a fact that when they see you being active and loving to exercise they want to do it too. My girls always want to go running with me. They love to come to cross fit with me and sometimes try and do the workouts. :) It's fun for me and they see that and they want to get in on the fun too. "My strong" is being an example of fitness for my kids. With childhood obesity on the rise, I can do my part as much as possible for my kids. That is a goal of mine to be an example of health & fitness for my kids. It's my responsibility for what they eat and what they do. I believe being an example is the main part of it.
Look at her go!!
Here is my 6 year old....go, go, go!
They did so great! As did everybody!
